Earl Grey Lapsang Tea Health Benefits

Rich in Antioxidants
It is a black tea and thus has the aforementioned natural polyphenols to fight free radicals and the rest of the healthful properties associated with black tea.

Energy and Focus
The moderate caffeine content gives a mild boost to alertness and concentration without coffee jitters.

Digestive Comfort
The Earl Grey bergamot oil is traditionally drunk after meals to help digest food and calm stomach.

Respiratory Warmth
The smoky character lends Lapsang a warming quality, and for this reason many find it comforting in cold weather or when congested.

Those benefits * are based on traditional use and general black tea research. Not to be taken as medical advice.

Taste Profile

Earl Grey Lapsang Tea - a flavour powerhouse. There is the familiar citrus brightness of bergamot, then the big smokiness of pine-smoked Lapsang leaves. Together these flavours make a cup that is zesty, robust and warming. The finish is long, aromatic and satisfying: ideal for the tea with personality.

Brewing Instructions

One teaspoon of tea leaves per 250ml cup.

Ladle freshly boiled water (95-100degC) over the top.

Soak for 3-4 minutes for a medium strength brew or longer for extra intensity.

Strain and serve cold, or add a bit of milk if you like.

Tip: The smoky flavour gets stronger with age so try shorter steeps for a more light citrus finish.

Ways to Enjoy

Boost your day with Morning Energy - A strong, aromatic cup!

Afternoon Indulgence - with dark chocolate, citrus cake or buttery shortbread.

Evening Wind Down - Best enjoyed slowly by a warm fireside companion.

Cautionary Notes

It has caffeine - avoid late in the evening if you are sensitive.

Some citrus sensitivities may not be suitable for bergamot.

As with all black teas, in sensitive people excessive consumption can lead to tannin-related stomach upset.
